The 69th Republic Day is being celebrated on Friday in India. But, do you know that the Constitution of the country was opted on November 26, 1949, but the leaders, who played a key role in giving independence to the country, chose the day of January 26, 1950 to implement it.
The full Swaraj Day was celebrated for the first time on January 26, 1930, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. On this day the fight for complete independence of the country started.
- After the formation of the constitution on 26th November, 1949, it was chosen on 26th January 1950. This decision was taken to salute 20th anniversary of full Swaraj Day
