In the online fraud case, Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his brother had called for the filing of their statements, but this was the third time that Nawaz ed failed to record their statement before the ED.
Nawazuddin was replaced by his brother Shams Nawab Siddiqui and advocate Rizwan Siddiqi reached the office of the Enforcement Directorate in Lucknow and asked the officers to file a statement.
The officers asked Nawaz's authority letter, but the lawyer did not have it. In such cases, the officers refused to say that this is a criminal case, it will record its statement only, which has been given the notice.
The ED had summoned Nawazuddin by sending a notice on October 4 and 17, but Nawazuddin of the first notice did not respond. Now Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been called on 22 November for the statement.
