             Indore Lord Shiva has many ancient and famous temples all over the world, but the story of the Aumkareshwara temple settled on the Aukar-shaped hill is slightly different. According to the belief, Lord Shiva and Parvati come here every day in this temple. This series has been running for centuries.

Omkareshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas situated on the Narmada coast. Without its philosophy, the journey of four Dhams is considered incomplete. According to the Puranas, this temple was founded by King Mandhata. They were the ancestors of Lord Rama.



- Dankeshwar Dikshit, the chief priest of the temple, points out that this temple is the Vedic carpet. It is said that it is mentioned in the story of Lord Shiva's sixteen Monday fast.



- It is believed that Lord Shiva and Parvati come to this temple every night and play back and forth here. This is the reason that in the sanctuary of the temple in the night is decorated in front of Jyotirling everyday. This tradition has been going on since the establishment of the temple.



- Dikshit explains that at times it has happened that the chaucer and the dances get away from the place kept at night and get to the second place in the morning.
