इन्होंने दिया था शाहरुख खान को ब्रेक, कभी खुद घर से भागकर पहुंचे थे मुंबई

Born in Jodhpur, Great Film Director Mani Kaul ran home from Mumbai at the age of 14. Very few people would have known, Kaul had given a break in his film to Shahrukh Khan. In Shahrukh's book "King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema", Anupama Chopra has written:

"Shah Rukh did not want to be a hero of Hindi films, he wanted to become a well-known face of the world of television.

It was almost like Oprah Winfrey, whose dream was to become King of TV. We were filled with emotions associated with father ... Shah Rukh Khan had reached Mumbai in 1990, but did not want to work in films. On the other hand, Mani Kaul did not make films like 'Bollywood'.

In such a way, Shahrukh got the offer of Mani Kaul's film Idiot (1992). Mani Kaul also used to have less known or unknown faces in his films. Shahrukh's name then started to appear in light, but Mani Kaul also broke his condition.

- 'Idiot' was being produced on the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel. Shahrukh noticed that the book that his father Mir had given him the first time was 'Idiot', which he bought from the Russian Culture Center in New Delhi for 4 rupees. Due to this emotion, he gave credit to the film. - It was Shahrukh's first film, in which Meeta Vashishta was her heroine.

This was seen in Doordarshan in four installments in 1991. It was screened at the New York Film Festival in 1992, but the commercials were not released anywhere. Later, Kaul made it the name of 'Ahok', which was not released anywhere, but when it was screened in Mumbai's Mami Film Festival in 2016, Shahrukh tweeted the fans to see his first work.
