              The New Ordos is called the world's largest Modern Ghost City, not just China. This city, built for 10 million people, does not have 2 percent of its capacity. Roads are deserted, large buildings are lying vacant, torn apart, many construction works have stopped in halfway and overall it looks like a modern haunted city.



New Ordos Metropolis is near the Ordos Desert in the northern region of China. It is also called Kangbasi. It belongs to the Inner Mongolia region. This is the same area, where Genghis Khan was born. Here 17 percent of the population belongs to the Mongols, while the rest are Han (original Chinese).

- The Chinese government gave the $ 1 billion (Rs 6,412 crore) to the development of New Ordos city. He expected the rapid development of the city. Large buildings have been built here, which are excellent examples of architecture.

-But this bubble of sky-high hopes broke out. Many construction works were not completed in the deadline, loans could not be paid, the investors pulled their hands before the project was completed. The result was that the place was full of incomplete buildings.



On the other hand, the prices of the houses were kept so high that the people who wanted to stay here retreated. This made it difficult to sell finished apartments.



This city was being prepared for more than 10 lakh people, but at present, there are about 20 thousand people living here. This situation is even when property prices have remained one-third in the last five years.



French photographer Rafael Oliveer visited the city of New Ordos and photographed the streets and various buildings here. He named this project 'A Fail Utopia'.
