             On Friday, a pipe burst into Russia's biggest 'Mir' named Diamond Mine, and there was a flood. In the flood, 142 laborers were trapped, out of which 133 have been evacuated so far. In this way, in the year 1955, Soviet geologist Yuri Khabardin, one of the members of his team, Ekaterina Elagina and Viktor Aydinco, discovered this mine.



After nearly two years of research, it came to know that it is a huge reservoir of diamonds. Khabar Din received the Lenin Prize for this search.



- From year 1957 to 1960, rough diamonds of 1 million carats i.e. 2 thousand kg were removed every year.

In this way, this mine played the most important role in strengthening the Soviet Union financially.
