Husband Shankar Rai could not escape, but the doctor definitely saved his wife. According to the reports, when Shankar realized that he would no longer stay, he cut his teeth to his wife, Amiri Devi, so that both of them could embrace death. 

However, wife Amiri Devi said that her husband did not force her to her teeth, but she herself caught her husband. She herself wanted that her husband's last wish could be fulfilled. He further said that his husband loved him so much that he wanted to die with that. Amiri told the police that her husband wanted to die together and stay alive even after the death. But their last wish of regret was incomplete.
