Gautam Gambhir surprised Ajinkya Rahane of Rajasthan Royals captain Ajit Singh after leaving Delhi's captaincy. But Rahane respects this decision of Gambhir.
Rahane said, "When the team fails to perform, it is not the captain's mistake, sometimes some combinations do not work, it does not always work in the way you plan. It is his mistake that he did not reduce his planning. I am sure that when he took over the captaincy of Delhi, he had the same purpose which is ours, to ensure that the team won. Well know and I have seen him play for India for a very long time. He is a passionate player and a good captain, but there are always some ups and downs, which we all face as a player and captain But as I know about Gautam, his attitude on the field is really great. He took the responsibility of the team but the team failed to perform, and it is truly appreciable is."
