In April, 2017, the marriage of SI Mulchand Singh Kanwar, martyr in Naxal encounter in Narayanpur, was done by Indraprabha Kanwar, who is presently a Professor in Polytechnic College, Janjgir. Mulchand was posted in Maoist-affected Narayanpur district from May 2016. The family used to transfer Mulchand to the posting in the surrounding district.
The news of his martyrdom in Ghadanbari village, located under the Kusmunda police station of Katghora block, has not been common. The police arrived at around 9 in the night and along with Mulchand's parents and some relatives went to Narayanpur. Right now his parents have been told that they are injured in his encounter.
