GST तोड़ेगा क्रिकेट प्रेमियों की कमर, मंहगा पड़ेगा मैदान में मैच देखना

GST is being implemented from midnight today and its impact will be on food and food items, and this is not untouched by cricket. It will have an impact on the pockets of those cricket lovers who go to the ground and enjoy the match.

After the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) from July 1, tickets for matches will come up to 28 per cent of the tax. The most entertaining and popular IPL of cricket will come in the 28th round of the scope. Other matches held by the BCCI or the Hockey Federation will come in 18% slabs. Tickets up to Rs 250 will be outside the purview of GST. The tickets at this stadium are very low.

There was a provision of 28 per cent tax on organizing sports organizations, but on Thursday it was decided to make it at 18 per cent. If GST Council had not decided to change it at the last moment, then the BCCI has 28 percent tax on tickets for Tests, ODIs and T20 matches in India.

According to experts, tax will be charged on tickets worth Rs 250 above July 1st. It is away from the current practice in which only tournaments like IPL and service tax were entertained.

There has been a tradition of keeping recognized sports organizations free of tax. These organizations work to advance the game and represent their country. For instance, Karnataka had removed 10 percent entertainment tax from the very first time and limited it to IPL matches only. But now 18 percent tax on tickets from July 1 will be taxed. This is a big setback for those who were planning to encourage the Indian team by going to the grounds.
