These will work with ticketing, cleaning, house keeping etc. Currently, they are undergoing training and are being introduced to the Metro Rail system. 

-Kinners have been appointed under the Kudumbashree scheme. This scheme is specially meant for women of communities standing on the lower rungs, victims of domestic violence, widows and divorced women. Under this, 780 women have been hired in the metro. 

Kerala is the first state in the country, which has created a policy to remove social discrimination against the hijras and bring it to the mainstream of the society by providing employment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kochi Metro on 17th June. In addition to the appointment of women and kiners, it has some unique features like solar power usage and water system.
