When Shri Krishna asked in which side he would fight, then he said that from Pandava's side but when he fought with Pandavas' side, the corrupt party would go weak and he will have to fight on the side of Korvo. By doing so, he will have to change sides frequently and it will continue until all the warriors die, in such a situation there will be no decision of war. Then Lord Krishna told him to cut his head, Barbarik was very big devotee of Shri Krishna Ji. 

Barbaric sent his shirt to Shri Krishna, and said that he wants to see the war. Then Shri Krishna placed his shisha on the hill of the hill. When the war ended, Pandav started arguing that if the war was won because of which, Barbarik went on to ask, he said that the war could only win because of Shri Krishna ji.
